They will develop an understanding of watering techniques and demands for all types of annual, vegetable, and herb plants.
The greenhouses are pesticide-free so the Greenhouse Assistant will also participate in the nursery's integrated pest management program and the use of beneficial insects.
An interest in growing plants and some experience working in a greenhouse would be an asset.
However, good communication skills, the ability to work with a supervisor, and the ability to learn and properly implement tasks are just as important.
The Greenhouse Assistant will also be stocking annual displays and helping customers select plants for their gardens and container plantings.
A friendly, approachable person with some sales experience is ideal.
